Welcome to Feather Your Nest!

Hello everyone - this is our very first post. We were neighbors first - then friends and now crafting designers for over ten years. Our love of holiday and seasonal décor inspired us to create this website.

We know there are LOTS of crafters out there - so why look at ours? First of all - this website supports our love of our fine feathered friends - who need habitat across the United States. As communities expand and rural areas are developed - bird habitat is becoming critically important. The good news is that bird habitats can be created right in your back yard, in community parks, as well as the country.

We'll be sharing birding tips to encourage song birds to visit your home and provide fun décor to brighten each season for your own nest.

Here is our first tip: did you know it's easy to befriend bluebirds with the right food. Their absolute favorite is waxworms, but they also love mealworms. You can purchase these at pet supply stores and online. You don't even need a feeder - you can throw them on the ground or in your grass and the birds will find them. Include a birdbath in the vicinity and your own bird sanctuary is complete!
